Circula por la ladera y luego tiene un tobogán recto que vuelve a la parte recta.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Aquí el comienzo de la edición 2008 de la carrera.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;object Un nuevo reglamento con muchos cambios se estrenaba esa temporada. Los neumáticos ya no eran sliks, sino similares a los actuales con los canales para que tengan menos contacto con el pavimento. La única diferencia era que en ese año se utilizaron tres acanaladuras en los neumáticos delanteros y a partir de 1999 se cambió a cuatro. Atrás siempre fueron cuatro.&lt;br /&gt;El ancho del auto pasó de dos metros a 1.80. Esto hacía que los autos se vean mucho más angostos a lo que estábamos acostumbrados.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La carrera de Bélgica es una de las más recordadas. Principalmente por el accidente de la primera vuelta, donde quedaron involucrados catorce autos.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Falta un mes para que se cumplan diez años: Fue el 30 de Agosto de 1998.&lt;br /&gt;Recuerdo cuando comenzó la trasmición de Globo (siempre la veía por el canal Brasileño porque los de Telefe eran insoportables) los comentaristas decían: "Gran premio de Bélgica con cara de Gran premio de Bélgica". Se referían a que estaba lloviendo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La carrera se largó con el piso muy mojado y seguía lloviendo. Después de la primera curva David Coulthard pierde el auto y comienza una reacción en cadena donde chocan muchos autos. La carrera se detuvo con bandera roja, los pilotos usaron los autos de reserva y después de una hora se volvió a largar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;En la segunda largada Mika Hakkinen hizo un trompo en la primera curva y fue chocado por Johnny Herbert. Hakkinen, que había hecho la pole, quedaba afuera de la carrera y veía cómo Michael Schumacher tenía la gran posibilidad de quedar primero en el campeonato antes de la carrera de Monza.&lt;br /&gt;A todo esto Damon Hill con su Jordan se iba en la punta de la carrera.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Después de varias vueltas Schumacher pasó a Hill con una maniobra estupenda antes de la parada de buses. Pero a pesar de quedar en la primera posición, no iba a ganar la carrera: cuando le iba a sacar una vuelta a Coulthard lo chocó de atrás y eso fue el final de la carrera para el alemán. Schumacher volvió a boxes en tres ruedas y detrás suyo iba Coulthard. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hubo varios incidentes más en la carrera. Al final sólo ocho autos completaron la prueba.&lt;br /&gt;En las vueltas finales Ralph era más rápido en la lluvia que Damon. Pero las 24 hs es una carrera larga y Audi ganó una vez más. &lt;br /&gt;La carrera fue una lucha constante entre el equipo Audi y el Peugeot, definiéndose al final sólo por una vuelta de ventaja. &lt;br /&gt;La lluvia se hizo presente en la hora final para ponerle más dramatismo a la definición.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Largada de la carrera. curva 4 y por esa razón era peligroso correr.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;El domingo se corrió a las 10 hora de japón, y al final de la carrera la estrategia de combustible fue la variable que definió la carrera.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Danica corrió conservando combustible en las últimas vueltas y eso le alcanzó para poder gastar un poco más al final y conseguir más velocidad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br donde Mark Blundell perdía de lograr su primer triunfo cuando se le terminó el combustible a pocos metros del final.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dos semanas después la categoría viajó a la costa oeste de los Estados Unidos para su carrera en Portland.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fue una carrera complicada en la lluvia. En estos autos el tema seguridad ya era una prioridad en el diseño. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La velocidad de cada auto es de 60 millas por hora (97 km/h) que es una velocidad normal de las rutas. La cosa era solo entre ellos.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Los dos tenían poco combustible. Habían parado a recargar muy poco como para llegar hasta el final.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La carrera se reinició faltando dos vueltas (25 segundos cada vuelta al óvalo de 1.5 millas) y todo hacía parecer que Dixon se quedaba con el campeonato, ya que Franchitti no lo podía pasar. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pero sucedió lo impensado: Entrando en la curva 3 de la última vuelta Dixon se queda sin combustible y Franchitti lo pasa y gana la carrera y el campeonato. &lt;br /&gt;Dixon pierde el campeonato a 300 metros de la bandera a cuadros. Dixon estaba en el tercer lugar y quiso superar a Buddy Rice por el segundo, se tocaron y Franchitti que venía detrás también se vio involucrado.
